A Moment to Reflect
This morning I woke up as usual, and analyzed yesterday’s site traffic: the numbers, any comments that need responding to, and finally a quick check of the carnival. At first I’ll admit I felt a bit dismayed - I only had one response. I suspect this is a common reaction among newbie bloggers: that lack of patience at the time it can take to build an audience. I know these things take time, and really I just needed a little reminder. It can be so easy to get caught up in the numbers and forget the actual reason I’m doing this - I love to write. So thanks to everyone reading so far - I’ve learned my lesson.
So, with that sentiment in mind I headed over to the site of my one brave and fearless carnival responder. It turned out to be a pleasant surprise that definitely made the blog carnival attempt most worthwhile for me. I liked this post by Spillay so much in fact, I feel it merits some extra attention so as not to be lost in carnival oblivion. This article is a wonderfully written one on the importance of patience in our lives. I recommend anyone reading my blog to go on over to Spillay’s site, “My Words” and read A Handful of Patience.
