Patience Therapy - A Carnival for Frazzled Parents

Well, here we go! The first official week of Patience Therapy. I must say I’m really excited. This week I posted my carnival on Blog Carnival and was delighted with the response. Now, for those who don’t know, Blog Carnival is a great way to earn “Authority” (ooooh, THAT sounds good) on bloggy-type sites such as Technorati. So, I would hate to deny these submitters their rightfully earned Authority - to that end, allow me to introduce them here. In future weeks, I’ll be happy to post such a link for anyone who uses Blog Carnival. Otherwise, please feel free to use the Mr. Linky provided below.

First of all, therapydoc presents Using What You’ve Got posted at Everyone Needs Therapy. I must say, I was completely surprised at receiving this article submission being so far out of my realm (remember, I’m the scientist-type). This article provides great insight “a moment in the life of” - the realization that therapists make mistakes too. It was a very entertaining and interesting read, and you should definitely check it out.

Then, AnneGlamore presents Keep Your Elves To Yourselves posted at Tales From My Tiny Kingdom. A big Thanks to you for stopping me from making a ginormous (hey, it’s a real word now) mistake! I just heard about these elves at a playdate not two days ago and seriously thought I needed to run out and get my son one. I was literally going out tomorrow to get it! Close call.

Now one thing these two submitters made me rethink is the theme idea for patience therapy. Though I had a theme I had left it open - share what you like of interest to you and what you think will help people get through the rest of the week. There’s something to be said for completely random. So throw caution to the wind I say! Who needs rules and guidelines and themes?! If you don’t want to play by the rules, then feel free to submit whatever you find humorous and/or interesting, your random thoughts - let’s just call it “food for thought for those of us needing a break” . Or if you, like me, are a play by the rules kind of person, then by all means let’s hear about those sinister and mischievous ways you cope with your significant other’s niggling habits that are our pet peeves.

Happy Reading!

Patience and Perspective

It’s funny how the most important lessons we learn in life come at the most inopportune times. For me this week, it was after my third night in a row of terrible sleep followed by long days with my son in which we were both cranky, tired and sick. This is not the […]

A Moment to Reflect

This morning I woke up as usual, and analyzed yesterday’s site traffic:  the numbers, any comments that need responding to, and finally a quick check of the carnival.  At first I’ll admit I felt a bit dismayed - I only had one response.  I suspect this is a common reaction among newbie bloggers: that lack […]

Young Chimps Outperform Humans in Memory?

Well, there is a study finally that takes the cake for me . . . . 5 year old chimps outperformed adults and college students in a game of memory. You can check out the original article on the CNN website - as I reveal which news I find most interesting and relevant to […]
