Take Part II - Random Acts of Kindness

Well, today is the last official day of Be Kind to Yourself Month.  For me, the month went well, and despite my husband working overtime nearly every night and weekend, we both managed to find time to do things for ourselves.

My last official act was to go to a card making party - a hobby I’ve always wanted to try.  Although I was intimidated because I literally knew noone going (it was my first meeting with a womens’ group I joined), I went anyway and was really glad I did.

Now I’d like to try performing Random Acts of Kindness.  In our society I think we value or privacy and isolation more than reaching out to help someone.  Even reaching out and saying a kind word to a stranger who’s having a bad day.  So who’s in?  I’ll set something up on my forums so we can share more regularly the great things we’re doing!

Cheers everyone.

A Tip to Remember to Take Your Vitamins

If you’re anything like me, you never remember to take your multivitamins.  Sure we all know taking one a day is proven to increase your life expectancy (at least that’s the latest study)  - but what with kids, work, laundry and on and on it’s so easy to forget to take them. I for one […]

A Review of Glass Bottles - Evenflo 8 oz.

Well, it’s been nearly a week since I’ve started using glass bottles, and I must say the transition has been easier than anticipated. Sure I’ve broken one bottle, but that’s probably because I’ve been so used to not having to think about the plastic ones and needed a bit of retraining.
The glass bottles are about […]

My Going Green Challenge - How I’m Doing

Well, a few posts ago, I wrote about how I was trying to go green -or at least greener.  I’ve bought reusable bags for groceries and taken my own mug to Starbucks instead of using their cups.  Now that it’s nearly time to buy cleaning supplies again, my next step is going to be to […]

International Be Kind to Yourself Month

Well, April is almost over, and so too is International Be Kind to Yourself Month.  This month has really taught me a lot - it’s important to get some time to yourself, it’s tough to find that time in a busy schedule (but always worth it) and there’s a whole world to discover out there […]

A Shout Out - Somebody’s Always Hungry

A couple of weeks ago I received an email from a very sweet sounding lady who had the fortitude and courage to write her very first book.  This was very inspiring to me who would like to do the same one day!  So when she asked me every so kindly to help her out by […]

100th Post - I’ve Switched to Glass!

Hello all! First of all, this is my 100th post! Just one hundred short posts ago, I began this endeavor not knowing where it was going to take me.  I’ve “met” some really great people and been inspired by many great sites.  My only hope is that my site has done the same for someone […]

Patience Therapy - April 17, 2008 Edition

Howdy! Welcome to this week’s edition of Patience Therapy. I’ve decided this carnival will run on a bi-weekly basis until such time as my readership develops enough to warrant publishing it on a weekly basis. I’ve considered letting it go, but I’ve been enjoying everyone’s submissions so much I want to continue. So, if you’re […]

The Things I Won’t Miss About Parenting Small Children

There is no question that motherhood has many rewards but let’s face it, there are so many things about parenting that we’d rather not have to deal with anymore. There are so many things I will miss about this time in my life, but there are also so many things I can’t wait for […]

Taxman Thou Art a Cruel, Cruel Man

Well, it’s a sad day here.  My already precarious mood turned sour as I completed our taxes.  What I thought was going to be a banner year for refunds in our house is ending up with us owing more than we can handle.  Damn you Mr. Taxman!
Maybe I missed a gazillion deductions?  Thank goodness in […]
