100th Post - I’ve Switched to Glass!
Now the topic of the day. I, as a consumer, have reached my limit. I am vowing here and now to wean myself of my dependence on plastics. The latest scare of BPA in baby bottles is to blame for putting me over the top. I know the powers-that-be are saying the levels of BPA are safe, but truthfully I’m not sure I trust who’s lining whose pockets and how that’s affecting the information I’m receiving. My reaction may seem extremist but when it comes to the health of my family, I just felt it was a step I had to take. And so, all my Avent bottles have been tossed out, and I have purchased Evenflo glass bottles.
I opted out of plastic altogether because I don’t really want to hear in a month how such and such bottle is now found to leach some other chemical. I just feel as though glass is safest. Really it hasn’t been too bad of a switch. True, I did break a bottle this morning while tidying the kitchen, but I suspect that’s from not having to think about what I’m doing with the bottles for so long. I will say the bottles look beautiful, and have a nice shine when they are clean.
Next will be my older son’s cups and bowls, followed by our drinking bottles and then storage containers. It seems to me that a return to the “old days” and how our parents and grandparents did things might just be the way to go in a lot of ways. So many things in our home seem to be bad for our health, it’s a shame we don’t really know what we can trust and what we can’t.

Yay! 100 posts - go you and congrats on making such a neat decision about the glass. Plastic containers for food and drinks is something that really concerns me.
I’m struggling to find decent bottles to carry around with us over here as I don’t want aluminium either and I don’t think dd could cope with glass
