International Be Kind to Yourself Month
I haven’t accomplished everything on my list - but that’s okay. I did accomplish a lot of it - like starting a short story, doing some knitting and reading two and a half books. I went out and met a few new people and spent some time with my friends. All of this time to myself helped me convince my husband he needed to do the same, and I think we both feel all the better for it. Though April is coming to a close, I really hope everyone who took part in the challenge will continue to try to find some time like this for themselves on a regular basis.
So, now for May - what do we think of Random Acts of Kindness Month? How about every day we strive to do something nice for someone we encounter -whether it be letting a stranger ahead of you in the grocery store line because they have a smaller order than you, to volunteering your time for a good cause. My son and I are both going to do this challenge because I think it’s an important lesson to teach our children as well as ourselves. What do you think?

Hiya
My - how time flies; I can’t believe we are nearing the end of the month already.
The thing that struck me most about this challenge was that of creating new habits. I started off really well - very enthusiastic and with a lot of ideas. By the end of 10 - 14 days I don’t think I was even thinking of the challenge any more. They say it takes 21 days to develop a habit, but I’ve learned I need big, strong reminders for those 21 days otherwise I simply don’t think about it.
What a great learning - thank you for being a catalyst for that
Random Acts of Kindness is something that is close to my heart, so I’m right on board with that one and would love to join in.
I’m now going to make a pact with myself to continue with this ‘be kind to yourself’ for the rest of the month and try and get it as an ingrained habit
Have you got some ‘be kind to melissa’ plans for the rest of the month?

Hi Mrs. Green
Time really does fly! This challenge was easy to get lost in the shuffle of the day to day over here. But it really was about trying to create a habit and get over the feelings of guilt a person might have at taking time for themselves. To that end, I think I’m a long way at accomplishing my goal. My life feels more balanced and I’m actually able to give a little more since I take a bit for myself.
My plans this week include trying a new craft and doing some reading. And you?

Just a quick reply as I’m about to take half an hour for myself
I’m going to listen to a new meditation cd that a friend sent me.
I’d like to make some cards too - so I’ll do that later in the week.
Enjoy the rest of the month!
