Take Part II - Random Acts of Kindness
Well, today is the last official day of Be Kind to Yourself Month. For me, the month went well, and despite my husband working overtime nearly every night and weekend, we both managed to find time to do things for ourselves.
My last official act was to go to a card making party - a hobby I’ve always wanted to try. Although I was intimidated because I literally knew noone going (it was my first meeting with a womens’ group I joined), I went anyway and was really glad I did.
Now I’d like to try performing Random Acts of Kindness. In our society I think we value or privacy and isolation more than reaching out to help someone. Even reaching out and saying a kind word to a stranger who’s having a bad day. So who’s in? I’ll set something up on my forums so we can share more regularly the great things we’re doing!
Cheers everyone.

hello hello
I’d like to join in on this one please; it helps take my mind off myself - I can be terribly self indulgent like that at times, so this will be a lovely challenge to take part in.
All love,

Hiya
Did you get any more interest in this? I gave dh a back massage last night, which he loved as he had chopped a tonne of wood. Normally I’d just get him to have a bath, but I spent the time massaging him, even though I was tired and wanted to go to sleep.
The knock on effect was that we spent a great evening together, chatting, putting the world to rights and talking about some future plans. It was wonderful!
I’ve been away from dd a lot today, so I’m going to play some games with her instead of being ‘too busy’.
Much love,
Mrs G x

Hi Mrs. Green,

I’m going to say I haven’t gotten any verbalized initerest in this - but I’m going to at least pretend others are joining in the fun.
My first official act is going to be to play “Super Hero” with my son - and like yourself not be “too busy” for him. This feels like a minor feat since I’m so exhausted today, but I know it means a lot to him. And that’s the point of the month, isn’t it.
I’m glad you’re taking part and I look forward to what hearing what you’re doing!
Cheers!

Hey
How is your month turning out- did you get to play superhero?
This morning we went over to someone’s house to help him with some wiring. He had taken a light off, forgotten where all the wires went and ended up with no lighting in his home. If he had called out an electrician, it would have cost him a lot of money, but as we had the know how, we went and helped him.
Yesterday I let someone go infront of me in the checkout queue - that’s one of my favourites; it seems to really bring joy to the recipient’s day; especially if they have antsy children with them
The day before, we saw our neighbour waiting for a bus, so we took her home with us - she was delighted, as the walk from the bus stop is 1/2 a mile, and, in her seventies now, she sometimes finds that a bit of a trek.
Small things, things I don’t even notice usually; I just do them. But it IS nice to stop and think of the good things you’ve done; focusing on them brings more opportunities for acts of kindness to find you…………….

Hi Mrs. Green!
My random acts this month mostly consist of allowing people ahead of me in the grocery line, and assisting random people in reaching items off top shelves (it’s my hidden talent…:) ) Also my sister had surgery so we went up to her place to help her out for a couple of days.
I’m glad to hear you’re doing this challenge with me - isn’t it interesting how uplifting helping someone else can make you feel?
Cheers!
Melissa
